The Noisy Brain Menu is the newsletter extension of my cookbook for adults with ADHD: The Noisy Brain Cookbook.
Making eating easier for ADHDers.
While the cookbook is all about helping ADHDers cook and eat “proper meals”, this newsletter is your lifeline for those days when heavy cooking or ordering out is just not an option.
This one is all about low effort — which means minimal ingredients, tools and time. A balanced plate is not the main point here. The goal is to keep yourself fed.
Because sometimes, food is just fuel, and it does not need to be any more complicated than that.
Making cooking “brainless”.
More than the dishes, each recipe is deliberately written and formatted for an ADHD brain. It focuses on making cooking a more physical activity rather than a mentally-demanding one.
The entire premise of The Noisy Brain — both cookbook & newsletter, is simply: do the step, tick the box and move on. No worries about what, how much and when. The recipe card will be the one to keep you guided and grounded.
How? By keeping you on track & in flow.
Steps are listed realistically and chronologically, with clever prompts and reminders included in the steps itself, whenever needed — so, no more scouring a recipe card figuring what’s first and next and no more forgotten, overcooked things.
Instructions are pictorial or very short, simple texts — so, no long paragraphs, ever. And measurements are always included in the steps — so, no scrolling up and down for amounts, ever.
Delicious, low effort recipes every Friday.
You will get one recipe directly to your inbox every Friday. I will always include a high-resolution PDF version of the recipe, so you can print them, or use on your devices.
Subscription is completely FREE. I do plan on introducing a paid tier that may include more recipes, maybe a weekly meal plan with a grocery list, and other content about cooking and eating with ADHD in general. But more on that later.
Who’s the cook?
I’m Ada. Many many moons ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD and PDD-NOS — now AuDHD since the ASD umbrella (Autism Spectrum Disorder) was introduced.
I’m married to the brilliant artist behind all the art and illustrations in my cookbook and upcoming newsletters. The Noisy Brain is essentially our brainchild.
Having a noisy brain myself, I understand the difficulties and struggles of eating and cooking when you have ADHD.
That’s why I have a range of recipes with varying effort levels, and they’re always written and formatted for an ADHD brain. No matter how many times I’ve made a dish, I will almost always use my recipe card so I can cook “brainlessly” and just let my limbs do the work.
But. Despite being a regular home cook now, I still have a lot of days I just don’t feel like cooking. When takeaways are not an option, these are the things I make.
Is TNBM for you?
Do you eat a bag of crisps or just skip eating entirely, when you don’t feel like cooking?
I see you and I hear you because I am you, pet — you’ll love these low effort recipes.
Are you a busy working adult who sometimes just need to feed yourself with something simple but still delicious?
I am also you. So, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered too.
Do you hate how most recipes are being written and formatted, because it’s very difficult for you to follow them?
Great, you’ll love how ADHD-friendly my instructions are.
Are you just starting to cook?
You’ll easily follow my recipes. Everything is broken down into mini steps and I draw/write them as plainly as possible. You’ll quickly become a natural cook.
Looking for “proper meals” too?
If you’re looking for recipes that are more comprehensive and “proper”, yet just as ADHD-friendly, checkout The Noisy Brain Cookbook.
It features 30 delicious and satisfying meals: complete with mains and it’s accompanying sides, ranging from low to high effort — mostly low and medium ones.
Each recipe is an all-in-one manual, guiding you from start to finish. No need to hunt down three different recipes and stress over coordinating them.
For meals with multiple components, like chicken with potatoes and vegetables, the recipe will show you how to prepare everything together seamlessly.
You’ll cook impressive meals with confidence and you’ll be proud to serve them to your loved ones.
Cheers,
Ada 🌝
